The first Oklahoma chase of 2016 was this supercell in southwestern Oklahoma. No tornadoes, but a briefly photogenic supercell and a great chance to test the drone and new tools out!
This was a pretty stressful chase day! I started the day in Wichita, KS. I got some wild hair that I may play the warm front, so I went up to freakin’ Hays KS early in the morning! After that, I quickly decided to get back south. I crossed through some heavy rain in Lacrosse, KS. Then caught a storm in southern Oklahoma.
