April 26th, 2015 Chase Log

What an exciting chase day this was! There was some major questions about the setup, but overall the potential was certainly there for a significant severe weather event. You should read my forecast from the night before, it outlined things decently!

We began the morning in Norman with an initial target of Abilene, TX. We wanted to be right on the dryline and decently far south so that we would be in the better moisture.

There was ongoing convection, much like I figured, but it was not substantial enough to produce significant outflow and ruin the day. These questions precluded high probabilities from SPC until the day of the event.

Here is the GPS log! I stopped it after supper (Stephenville) so that is the cutoff.. We were able to have dinner in Stephenville, even though the town was ravaged by huge hail earlier that day!
