Sometimes it’s just great to go back and reminisce! Today is one of those days. Since it’s been pretty quiet lately, the best thing I can do is look back and remember my early days of chasing. I might not have shot the best video back then, but I sure saw some great tornadoes!
This was a pretty stressful chase day! I started the day in Wichita, KS. I got some wild hair that I may play the warm front, so I went up to freakin’ Hays KS early in the morning! After that, I quickly decided to get back south. I crossed through some heavy rain in Lacrosse, KS. Then caught a storm in southern Oklahoma. After ditching both of them, they eventually went onto produce tornadoes. I was frustrated.
Finally that evening in Cherokee, OK we got some decent tornadoes, then a monster wedge near Manchester, OK. A crazy, stressful chase for sure!
I didn’t get the best tornado of the day though.. That formed from the rain shower I left earlier.. Check out the video from the late TWISTEX team from near Salina, KS. Truly an incredible video and tornado!
