North Central Kansas Supercells: April 19th, 2017

Wasn’t really planning to chase this day, but early morning models were insistent on a chance at a supercell remaining discrete for at least an hour or two along a cold front/dryline in Kansas. Most chasers targeted further north along the warm front/low in Iowa, but I had to work so opted for south.

The first storm formed north of Russel, KS. We played the tail end of the first 3 near Lincoln, KS. It had some great structure. Then, we moved to the next furthest south storm near Ellsworth, KS, then finally the Great Bend supercell. All of these had magnificent structure!
